FALLBROOK – Fallbrook Woman’s Club (FWC) started their new year with two major events. First, its beloved side-loading carriage is back home in front of the clubhouse, looking beautiful.
The much needed restoration of the carriage was made possible by a generous donation from Linda and Otis Heald. The work done by Richard Pace in Rainbow included treatment for termites, replacement of parts, and a new coat of paint. The new colors of black body and yellow spokes are in keeping with the historical colors from 1876 when the carriage was constructed.
In addition, the 2016-2017 Board of Directors was installed on May 10. Myrna Binford, president of Palomar District and member of FWC, performed the installation using colors to represent the traits required for each office. (see photo)
Next, the club will be hosting their semi-annual Mah Jongg Tournament on Friday, June 24. A $20 donation will be requested to play. All donations are tax deductible as proceeds go to charitable donations and scholarship funds.
The tournament is open to all players so members hope the men will also join in the fun. The clubhouse is located at 238 W. Mission Rd. Doors will open at 11:30 a.m. and play begins at 12:15 p.m.; a light lunch and beverages will be provided along with raffle baskets, prizes and lots of fun! Carpooling is encouraged.
