A short 18-mile drive from the Pacific Ocean, the greater Fallbrook area is well known for its gently rolling hills, lush groves, ancient oak trees, equestrian and walking trails, riparian areas, nature preserves, and Mediterranean climate.
Fallbrook Historical Society
Museum
A turn-of-the-century farmhouse, formerly owned by the first Civil War soldier to win the Congressional Medal of Honor, and a museum featuring
exhibits on the first people to inhabit the Fallbrook area: Luiseno Indians, Spanish soldiers and settlers, Mexican ranchers, and American homesteaders.
Also features exhibits on early Fallbrook businesses, including the two railroads, and the development of groves and fruit production, from olives and apricots to lemons and avocados.
The Fallbrook Historical Society consider themselves “the keepers of Fallbrook’s
images.” Come and explore those images on Thursdays from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. and
Sundays from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.
